About

Nicholas Veasey is a painter and photographer based in England. His work is an exploration of the transience and interconnectedness between humans and nature. He is drawn to the places where these two worlds meet: an ancient stone wall on a British moor, the stark lines of architecture against an Icelandic sky, or the interplay of light and shadow on a forgotten structure.

His artistic practice is rooted in a philosophy of sustainability and conservation. In a rapidly changing world, he sees his work as an act of preservation—an invitation to move beyond mere seeing into a state of active observation. His process often begins with a photograph to capture the truth of a moment, which then evolves in the studio into a painting that expresses its emotional essence.

Ultimately, he hopes his work creates a space for reflection, fostering a deeper appreciation for the fragile beauty of our shared environment and prompting a more considered relationship with the world we inhabit.

b.1988 Bath. He lives and works in Bristol.
