This piece part of an ongoing project series based on using Titanium White Water Soluble Oil Paints on high GSM black canvas paper to examine how light forms our perception of motion and shape. I have always been fascinated in wave forms and in particular the point at which the water meets the land and the wave breaks, each tidal shift is unique and water always moves in different and surprising ways. I hoped through this piece to capture a singular wave as it forms a shore break using a style of painting inspired by black & white photography.
